Rick Rossano, Guitar Player, Song Writing 101

Rick Rossano will teach teh the basics of Songwriting at the Saturn Studio Intensive...

Hailing from West Palm Beach, Florida, by way of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Rick Rossano is an amazing guitarist and instructor of diverse interests and styles, able to shift effortlessly from jump blues, surf and country to rockabilly, jazz and punk. But his primary forte is roots style guitar.

"I don't care so much for labels," Rick offers. "To me, there are a lot more similarities than differences between blues and rockabilly and country or surf or whatever.  I just like to draw from it all, play loud, and have fun!”

Rick was named one of the Top Ten Unknown Guitarists in the USA by Guitar One Magazine. By no surprise upon hearing Rick, fellow monster guitarist Steve Vai agreed, calling Rick “a master of roots guitar”. Mr. Vai subsequently signed Rick and his band The Dillengers to his record label Favored Nations, distributing The Dillenger's album “Instro-Mania” globally.

Additionally, Rick has done session work up and down the east coast, has an instructional book and play-along CD published by Mel Bay called “Roots-Style Rhythm Tracks”, and teaches, both via seminars and private lessons.

Rick gigs with South Florida blues/punk legend Charlie Pickett, Grammy winning boogie woogie pianist and singer Mitch Woods and His Rocket 88 Band, R&B monsters The Shakers, South Florida's Beatles tribute Across The Universe, and has shared stages with The Beach Boys, The Sonics, Dick Dale, Little Richard, Link Wray, Los Straitjackets, NRBQ, Marshall Crenshaw, Wilson Pickett, Jaco Pastorius, Dion DiMucci, The Band, Johnny Winter, Three Dog Night, The Turtles, The Dixie Chicks and many other rock and roll, soul and R&B luminaries.

Press for Rick and The Dillengers include these astute observations:

“ (Instro-mania" by The Dillengers is a great CD – it is our pleasure to play it.” Dan Neer, exec. producer of “Little Stevens’ Underground Garage”

“..guitarist extraordinaire Rick Rossano blows minds with roots-rock trio The Dillengers, leaving a number of jaws dangling about knee-level… no one in this part of the country bends a string or works a toggle switch like this guy… bad, bad, bad.”

Jake Cline, Ft. Lauderdale’s City Link

“..fuel-injected rockabilly trio, The Dillengers..” - City Link, “Best Of” Issue, Reader’s Choice Awards

“..a blistering live set… the humor and theatrics of The Dillengers disguises a serious commitment to American Music.” - Scott Messmore, Boynton Times

“..wonderful, throat-lumping… their original material brilliantly captures the band’s irreverent sense of humor, intelligence, and most of all, cojones.” - Bob Weinberg, Miami Herald

“..one of the southeasts’ best-loved musical secrets.. DO NOT MISS Rick Rossano's incendiary fretwork.”
Kati Schardl, Tallahassee.com

“The Dillengers have long displayed the integrity to be standard-bearers of the Florida roots-music scene… (their live show) can include anything from George Jones to the Ramones, punctuated by goofy original tunes and stoked with hipster attitude…Upon hearing guitarist Rick Rossano's superlative picking, Guitar One named him  one of America's ten best guitarists. No wonder.”  - New Times magazine
